About Me

Hi! I’m Rae and this page will give you information about me. I am a recovering drug addict and alcoholic.

Rachael Addicted To Sobriety

This website was born out of my journey from addiction to sobriety. The passion behind it is fueled by my drug addiction recovery process and my deep desire to share my journey in the hope that I can help even one other person.

Staying clean and sober hasn’t been easy, but I don’t ever want to go back to living the way that I used to live. Drug and alcohol treatment and recovery is a process that can be extremely difficult at times, but so far, it’s been more than worth it.

Many individuals and organizations have helped me during my struggle, and my desire is to give back to those who have supported me by paying it forward to others who still need drug abuse help.

Today, I see myself as a pretty normal 24 year old, except for the fact that I don’t drink or use any substances. I attend classes during the college school year and work during the summers, and will soon be starting law school. I like to read, spend time with my husband and my family, play sports, go to the gym, and go to the beach. Everything about me is pretty normal.

However, I certainly wasn’t always who I am today. In fact, it hasn’t been that long since I straightened out my life.

My sobriety date is August 12th, 2010. My drug alcohol treatment journey isn’t over. My drug addiction recovery isn’t over. Recovery lasts a lifetime. And I want to share it with you.

To let you get to know me better, I will share my own personal story and experiences. It’s not a short story, so it’s on a separate page. I invite you to read my story and those submitted by people just like you struggling with addiction or in recovery themselves.

Addicted to Sobriety was designed to provide information about drug addictions and alcoholism, as well as other forms of addiction, to both addicts and those who love them, but most importantly, this website is a place for you to feel understood and know that you're not alone.
